Heey everyone,
It's been a while, but it's been just such a busy couple of weeks. I am in Shrek the musical, and I have one rehearsal a week, which will increase the closer we get to our performances! I am the witch and I'm in 3 scenes and the curtain call! Beside the curtain call, I'm also in 2 songs! So that's not bad at all! I also met some new people there, so it's a lot of fun. We usually have rehearsals on mondays after school from 4pm to 6pm. So these are long days! But that's not it! Last week I tried out for the cross country team, because if I don't do any sports I'll probably won't be the same when I'm back in Belgium.. ;p Anyways I had to run 1 mile, which I did in a bit more than 6 min and I got in! On Tuesday I had my first practice and I ran about 2.5 miles. There are some people on the team, who are in my photography class. And I also met some new people, every one is so nice. After practice Jake drives me back home because he lives close to my neighbor hood. The track we ran on tuesday and today is really nice, but the one we did yesterday was mainly in the sun, so even though we didn't run as much I was so tired. The shades are much better ;) So we practice everyday except for fridays and in my case monday, since I am in the musical! On wednesday I went straight to church after cross country practice, yes in my sweat, but everyone who has an extracurricular activity does that. So we go have dinner around 5pm and then we do a game and a bible study! It's a lot of fun! Last wednesday though, we went to get some ice cream after school with Haley, whose birthday it was ( on 9/11 :o) and It was a lot of fun because she had to do these crazy things in public, which was hilarious! After midweek church we went to Barnes and Nobles (it's starbucks in a book shop!) where we had some coffee, although I had decaf. I actually want to sleep at night. It was her mother's treat, she is really sweet. The school day itself was just a little bit different than others. First block I had Mississippi studies and we had to stand up for a moment of silence, like we do for the pledge of allegiance on every monday. Ms. Rowland, the Mississippi studies teacher also showed us some pictures of the 9/11 memorial and the new World Trade Center tower in New York City. She visited it last year in the fall, so the tower wasn't completed yet, but it was very serious. Other than that it wasn't that extremely emotional (anymore), since it's been 12 years ago. That's about it! Talk to y'all soon again
