Welcome to my journey through life
I am Suzanna and welcome to my blog!
I originally made this blog to keep my family and friends updated about my study abroad in 2013-2014 in the USA.
Fast forward a couple of years, I have lived in Brussels (Belgium), Lleida (Spain) and Stirling (Scotland), and obtained a master's degree in Translation (English & Spanish - Dutch) from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
I love traveling, meeting new people, learning more about a new culture, trying out new foods, running, reading, cooking etc.
Given that my mother is Romanian and my father Belgian, I call myself a multicultural person as I have also studied in the US and Spain. My friends live all over the world. The truth is I could never get bored of this life. There is always a new adventure laying around the corner and we just have to be brave enough to pursue it. I like to set goals. For example by running a 20k or reading a number of books in one month. Setting goals keeps your spirit alive.
Moreover, I am involved in charity for children in Romania who do not have equal chances due to the communities in which they are born. My upbringing and education I owe to my parents and I realise that there are so many children born in families who cannot afford education or cannot help and support their children who may be going to school in their first elementary years. In my opinion, charity is more than donating some money, it is also a contribution of your time, your skills, and your love. An act of kindness is worth more than a golden coin and you can spread your love everyday and everywhere.
Above all this, I am most passionate about Jesus because to me he is not just a historical teacher who introduced the highest ethical standards ever heard of on this earth. To me he is more than a historical figure, he is a spiritual being who can change your sadness, your negative thoughts and disappointments, your fears and anxiety into hope for the future, giving you a new heart and soul that is not afraid of death. I am sure of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for the sins of the world because I see my own sinful nature that cannot simply be washed away by a certain religious life style expressed in clothing, religious assemblies or good deeds. It is the human heart where repentance begins and forgiveness of sins can be obtained.
If your inner self believes in a higher power in this world, maybe even a God who looks down to the injustice brought about by selfish hearts, the death of innocent children as a result of years and years of wars, then you should be aware that this 'supernatural being' should have provided a way out. All the world's religions have tried to show how one can reach 'heaven', eternity, infinity etc. where there is no suffering or pain. However, none of these religions speaks with the same assurance with which Jesus spoke the words:
"I am the truth, the way, and the life. No one can come to the Father but through me."
