Hey everyone,
It's time for an update again! This weekend was extra long! Because we don't have school today and neither did we have yesterday. Last week we had 9 weeks exams! That just means we have exams on the 9th week of school about everything we did up till now. I know it's already been 9 weeks since I left Belgium!! So the exams went pretty good! It wasn't that hard, because a lot were open book tests. So photography and Mississippi studies I didn't need to study for. Spanish and French I also didn't need to study a lot for since we recently had a test. Painting was also a little bit of studying some composition terms and types of colors. For visual arts we had to make an artwork for an exam grade. Theatre was also an exam to study and next to that we had to do an improvisation or an pantomime. I did an improvisation! English was the hardest exam. We had to read a lot of literature and study grammar, so I hope that went well. The exams started on tuesday and lasted till friday. My A day classes had exams on tuesday, but I made them on thursday, since I didn't go to school on tuesday. Instead I helped Lacey with the silent auction, a charity fundraising for MadCaap, that cares about the poverty in Madison. We worked on it all day! There were a lot of things to set up, because we had a lot of donations! We didn't even go home for lunch, instead we had chick-fil-a sandwiches and lemonade! We only ran back home to put on some different clothes. We just got back in time to welcome the guests. It was a successful night! We sold almost every donation! I also bid on earrings I really wanted and I won! :D Marguerite, Lacey's mom also bought me a Madison Central Jaguar pack, which included an all sports pass for every home game! I'm so grateful for that. So since I didn't do the A day exams on tuesday, I did them on thursday. So I had 4 exams on thursday. Friday Lacey and Brad left for their second honeymoon, they've been married for 10 years, so they went to Jamaica. I was supposed to leave for the beach retreat to gulf shores, Floriday with my church's youth group, but the weather channel forecasted bad weather and a hurricane named 'Karen', that originated from the Gulf of Mexico. So our trip got canceled! A big disappointment turned into a blast! We had a ton of fun without the beach! Friday evening we had dinner at the youth group center of our church. We did a lot of games and it turned out to be a fun evening! I got home at 11pm and went straight to bed, since I had a race to run on saturday morning! I woke up at 7:30am on saturday and got ready to be picked up by Rebecca's parents. This is my second cross country race! Both of them were at the cross country tracks of Mississippi College in Clinton. Varsity girls had to run at 10am and we had to run 2,5 miles. My time was 20:30min, which was exactly the same as last week, even though It seemed to go faster this time. But the whole team did good, because we got first place as a team! :D Go Jaguars! After I got home I facetimed mom and dad. It was so good to see them and talk to them about my week. After that Anna picked me up and we went to miss Cindy's house to do some art! Miss Cindy has such a cute house! We did decorative paintings. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=743466625670920&set=a.235372816480306.89189.100000227681760&&theater You can see mine on that link. We also had dinner there and it was so much fun! After that Haley, Meg, Claire and I went to Anna's house for a sleepover! Also Mary Morgan joined us after the painting! I was a fun evening! We had ice cream, popcorn and watched Valentine's day even though we fell asleep during the movie! :P Sunday morning we woke up at 8 to get ready for church. We decided to go to the late service, so we went to the youth group bible study first, which is between the early and late service. The service was really good! The preacher spoke about how a christian life doesn't make sense to the world, but we still put our trust in God. After the service Haley, Megan, Anna, Danielle and I went to have lunch at soulshine, a pizza place, but I didn't have pizza. I had Crawfish soup and hot tamales. It's meat with cornflower wrapped in a corn leave. It was good and spicy! After that I just went home and took a nap, because I was very tired after the sleepover. After my nap I got picked up by Megan and Claire to go to our small groups. First we stopped by Kroger to buy some cupcakes and then we went to our small group. It was a good lesson, even though we got of topic! But sometimes that's good. The rest of the evening was good. I finally got to watch the first episode of season 5 of The Vampire Diaries, which was so good! On monday we went to the fair! the fair is similar to the 'kermis' but it has more rides and also roller coasters and I know it sounds scary, because they move these from place to place! :O Claire picked me up at 10:30am and we went to Anna's house . We got into Anna's car and then we went through the ATM to get some cash. When we got at the fair, we got together with Haley, Meg and Billy. We were all hungry so we already bought lunch! The food at the fair is crazy! You can get everything fried! Yes even Oreo's! I didn't even try that! There are also corn dogs, funnel cake and so much more crazy things. I had cheese bites with a dressing called 'ranch', and they were pretty good. Other then I had a lemonade, but it wasn't good :s And then we just did a lot of rides! It was a lot of fun! Today is just a chill day, doing some homework, writing this, watching the Originals..., waiting for Lacey and Brad to come home. I had a great weekend and I'm thankful for the wonderful friends and host family I have! xoxo Suzanna
