Dear Blogreaders, It's been a long time! Actually, it's been more than two years since I've updated this blog. Initially, I created this blog to keep my friends and family updated about my exchange year in the US, and afterwards I wanted to keep writing but as I started university in Brussels I realised time flies! After two years of studying in the capital of Europe, I can say that I like this student city-life. Brussels was the best choice for multiculturalism and language exchange when studying linguistics. So life was kind off busy for blogging but I do realise now how enriching it can be to right down your experiences. Memories fade but putting them down in some way will make you treasure them more. Why am I actually reviving this blog? The reason is 'basically' another journey abroad like I started 3 years ago in Mississippi. This time, I'll be going to Lleida, Spain for 5 months. It's a small town in a beautiful region between Barcelona and Zaragoza, Catalonia. Catalonia is an autonomous community in Spain and the official languages are Spanish and Catalan. I'm really thrilled for this big change! From Multicultural Crowded Brussels to Little Medieval Lleida. I'll be rooming with Parisa, a good friend from university. We have found two rooms, one for each, in a apartment just outside the city-centre. We are going to have so much fun!! The owner is staying there as well, who I got in touch with through an erasmus student in Belgium from Barcelona. It's amazing how everything was so easily arranged! God is working you know ;) This summer has come to an end and I'm so thankful for the things I've done. From ministering with MetroMinistries in Romania and spending time with my Romanian family to the wonderful Italian beaches and enchanting medieval cities of Tuscany, I can't deny that my summer was unique! Yet, I think it wasn't the stuff I've done that made me happy the most. It was the fact that God's presence was everywhere I went. God's mercy was seen on the smiling faces of the poor Roma-children in Romania. His fatherhood was revealed while volunteering with Kimberley and Syria, such sweet sisters of me in Christ! His energy was felt in the Apostolic Church where my Italian friends go to. I have experienced the kindness of Jesus through the hospitality of the Italian families I had the privilege to stay with. All these experiences wouldn't have been the same if I hadn't included my Holy Father. My departure for Spain is 24 hours away and I already know that also this time God has great plans in store:) What a blessing it is that, no matter what, there's always someone looking out for you. And therefore, I am not afraid! I will be posting my blogs in English. Mainly because I have family all over the world and after all English is somehow an 'international' language. Besides, I know my English will become really bad since I will be immersed in the Spanish language and culture 24/7 and this way I can keep practicing a bit.
I am so ready for this!! Thanks for reading and feel free to comment if you have any questions:) Un beso, Suzanna
